We’re in the middle of a lot of business adjustments at the moment, sorting through the various projects we have planned, our website redesign, and making sure we begin this year with a focus on effective financial management to ensure our most successful year yet. We’ll be working on those administrative type tasks for quite some time to get them out of the way early this year, but we couldn’t stand the lack of a creative outlet so we started a new painting today!

LOS ANGELES – On November 1st, 2011 the artistic duo known as “dfrnt” proudly began releasing glimpses of their new series Land of Los Muertos, an original series that has been a long time aspiration held by the artists. Drawing upon the richness of their own cultures, dfrnt plans to bring this event out of the shadows through art. Follow dfrnt at dfrnt Times to keep up with their new work as it is released.

Aqui esta un paso por paso de nuestro ultimo diseño original. Tenemos una serie de trabajo similar que estaremos mostrando este mes, estaremos grabando la creacion de nuestro proximo diseño hoy por un cuantas horas

Currently working on an original graphite 15″ x 19″ Dia de Los Muertos illustration.

Everything is ready for the final piece, just had some food, supplies are ready, I don’t have to work, lets go… Todo esta listo para el dibujo final, acabo de comer,  tengo todo lo que necesito, no tengo que ir a trabajar, vamonos.

This will turn into a finished piece by the 25th….   Esto se convertira en un dibujo terminado por el 25 de este mes.

OK, so we were in the middle of our new Lead Burlesque piece when we realized we should probably switch over to working on our new Dia de Los Muertos illustration since it actually has a firm deadline. We are away from our painting studio so we’ll have to go ahead and stick with some good old fashioned graphite for this piece. I have to admit that its quickly becoming a favorite tool for us once again, its where most artists get their start, scribbling on lined paper during class and now going back to it seems new again.  The new illustration is pretty far along, in our heads at least, now its time to put it down on paper.

SPANISH: Bueno, asi que estabamos en medio de nuestro nuevo dibujo cuando nos dimos cuenta de que nosotros probablemente debemos cambiar a trabajar en nuestra nueva ilustracion sobre el Dia de Los Muertos desde que ese si tiene una fecha firme en cual terminar. Estamos lejos de nuestro estudio de pintura así que tendremos que seguir con puro lapiz. Tenemos que admitir que se a convertido en una herramienta predilecta para nosotros una vez mas, donde la mayoria de los artistas consiguen su comienzo, dibujando sobre papel durante clase y ahora volviendo parece nuevo otra vez. La nueva ilustracion esta bastante terminada, en nuestras cabezas por lo menos, ahora es tiempo de ponerlo en papel.
